Dr Ruwan Perera has extensive experience in performing skin surgery to achieve optimal results in cosmesis. He specializes in performing complicated local and free flap repairs, as well as full and partial-thickness skin grafts. Dr Perera provides expert care for patients undergoing surgery for skin cancers, including basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer and melanoma.
He also offers minor skin surgical procedures such as excision of lipomas and ingrown toenail management.
For patients undergoing a biopsy of a skin lesion or undergoing a minor skin excision procedure, we are able to perform the procedure at our surgical clinic. The surgery will be performed under local anaesthesia by Dr Ruwan Perera and the clinic nurse. For patients undergoing major skin surgery such as skin grafts or flap repairs, the procedure will be undertaken at the hospital. The surgery will be performed under general anaesthesia.
